WhatsApp notification: Waiting for this message. Please check your phone
Sometimes you will see the above message on a paired device instead of the message sent to you by a contact. Because of end-to-end encryption, it can sometimes take a while for someone's message to be delivered to your paired device. This can happen, for example, if you or the person you are chatting with is using an older version of WhatsApp.
You can speed up this process:
- Look on your phone to see the message.
- Make sure you both have the latest version of WhatsApp.
Beta version WhatsApp desktop app needed
To avoid error messages in WhatsApp, you need the latest (beta) version of the WhatsApp desktop app. This desktop version was released specifically in conjunction with the "WhatsApp on multiple devices" beta. If you do not install this desktop version, you may get the following error message:
' You have received a message on your phone, but your version of WhatsApp web does not support this message.'
or:
' You have received a message on your phone, but your version of WhatsApp desktop does not support this message.'
or:
'Waiting for this message, check your phone.'
If you get this error message, you need to install another WhatsApp version on your computer. I can also recommend that you continuously update WhatsApp, this is probably due to the fact that you are using an outdated version. I have added below a download link for the new beta version of WhatsApp desktop that fixes this problem.
Please note that this is a download link to WhatsApp software that means you have to install it directly on your computer:
In case you don't trust the download link, here is the article from the WhatsApp beta website:
